Fake It Till You Make It

Today as we were singing in church, I wondered how many people actually meant the words they were singing?  Better yet, how many people were paying attention to the words they were singing, or were even singing for that matter?

The song that brought these thoughts to mind was: ‘Completely Done’ By Jonathan Baird, Ryan Baird, and Rich Gunderlock.

The line that stuck out to me the most was: ‘I’m leaving my fears behind me now.’

HP and I discussed it on the way home.  Most, if not all, of us cannot truly sing that song and mean it.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could?  HP’s take on it was maybe if we sing it often enough it will actually be true one day.  Just like positive self-talk: maybe if we do it often enough it will come true.

One day I want to be able to sing all of the words to all of the songs and truly mean it.  For right now I will have to be content with singing ‘This World is Not My Home’, and knowing that one day, when I am HOME, I will be able to sing all of the words to songs and truly mean them.
